Mira Grant è lo pseudonimo di Seanan McGuire, una scrittrice americana di fantasy e horror, nata il 5 gennaio 1978 a Martinez, in California. Dopo aver conseguito una laurea in folklore e mitologia, ha iniziato a lavorare come autrice a tempo pieno, alternando la scrittura sotto il suo vero nome e lo pseudonimo di Mira Grant.
Come Mira Grant, è conosciuta per le sue opere incentrate sul genere horror, in particolare per la Trilogia della Rinascita che comprende i romanzi Feed, Deadline ed Blackout. Questa serie, ambientata in un futuro post-apocalittico in cui l’umanità è stata decimata da un virus che trasforma le persone in zombie, è diventata un punto di riferimento nel genere horror moderno. Ha anche scritto la serie “Parasitology”, composta dai libri “Parasite”, “Symbiont” e “Chimera”.
McGuire ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti letterari sia sotto il suo vero nome sia come Mira Grant. Nel 2010, Feed è stato nominato per il Premio Hugo per il miglior romanzo e ha vinto il Premio John W. Campbell per la miglior opera di fantascienza. Nel 2013, ha ricevuto il Premio Hugo per il miglior romanzo breve per la sua opera “The Last Stand of the California Browncoats”.
